Charlies Angels Animal Rescue

This January B and I began working with a local group called Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue. My friend Aimee (who owns Sadie, Lola, and Betty, see earlier post) had been working with them and encouraged me to do the same. CAAR pulls animals (mostly dogs and some cats) from a local high kill animal shelter and works to place them in rescue. We began checking out the available dogs and finally decided to become foster parents when we saw this beautiful girl:

This is Queenie (who was originally a male named Rob... welcome to the world of animal rescue!). A beautiful old girl with the sweetest personality. She had a little trouble with our steps and hardwood floors, but it was so great to watch her progress and become healthy and gain some much needed weight. She was so sad at the beginning but slowly her personality began to shine. At the end of January she was placed in a foster to adopt situation with a really nice couple here in Asheville. She really was a great first foster experience for us, and we both miss her a lot (so does Riley although they didn't play much due to her age). She was content sleeping on a comfy bed!

We still foster for CAAR (I'll let you meet Ranger soon) and I've also been going out to the kennel to photograph the dogs there pretty regularly. CAAR posts the pictures to their Facebook and Petfinder pages to help the dogs either get adopted or rescued. Check it out if you'd like: CAAR
